Hi, I'm Carl! I'm a hall chair, so give me receipts and come talk to me about anything. My door is (almost) always open as long as I'm here and awake.
Interests
- Math.
- Music (see below). I play piano in the Emerson program and MIT Chamber Music Society, co-organized the Floorpi a cappella groups over IAP 2013, and pick up a violin every now and then. Apart from that and pretending to be a music major, I go to a lot of concerts, including BSO college card concerts and Boston Chamber Music Society concerts, so definitely let me know if you want to go sometime.
- HMMT. I was a problem czar for November 2011 and February 2013, and currently remain an officer, my primary role being to think of new titles for my position (among others, "Senior Advisor to the Tournament Directors," "Affiliated Bro," "You-Should-Probably-Email-Someone-Else"). Let me know if you want to get involved.
- Sports. I'm always down for a game of badminton or basketball. Also, Celtics, Patriots, Red Sox.
- Working Out/Running. Both of which are much less boring with other people. Green Building Challenge 2014 Goal: 40.
- Cooking. Time permitting, but ditto to the above.
- TV shows that don't suck. Friends, The West Wing, Breaking Bad, anything else?
- Lexington, MA and how it's way better than wherever you grew up.

Music
Some time ago I came up with the absurd idea of coming up with a list of my 50 favorite pieces of music once a year. Here's the most recent top 10 - take a listen!
- Symphony No. 9 (Beethoven)
- Piano Concerto No. 4 (Beethoven)
- Piano Trio No. 2 (Mendelssohn)
- Violin Sonata (Franck)
- "Trout" Quintet (Schubert)
- Piano Trio No. 1 (Brahms)
- A Boy and a Girl (Whitacre)
- String Quartet No. 2 (Borodin)
- Piano Sonata in B-Flat Major (Schubert)
- Piano Sonata No. 21, "Waldstein" (Beethoven)
And holy shit, the King's Singers. If you ever decide to bring up the subject of which of the six of them is the most attractive, I assure you that you will successfully distract me from whatever I am doing.
