e.g.
- Three-headed professor: answer questions with each person saying one word at a time
- reverse 2- or 3-headed professor: the 2/3 people are given a thing to describe, they describe alternating word-by-word, the audience has to guess (jeopardy style "What is ..." ) what the professor was asked to describe
- Professor why are you late (i.e. boss why are you late)
Thing Explainer
aka kmli's bad ideas event. describe things using only the most common 10000 words. Alternatively, Reverse Thing Explainer: have descriptions and get people to guess the word.
Blindfolded live-action pin-the-donkey
- Set-up: Put a pink and a blue post-it note among many yellow post-it notes on the wall
- People required: Two teams of people, one team on each person is blindfolded (rest of team has to guide this person using only words)
- Win-condition: Blindfolded person has to take post-it note of their team's color and stick it on the blindfolded person of the other team while avoiding getting a post-it note stuck from other person
- [optional shenanigans] - make players wear silly-looking blindfolds (e.g. a la Ellen DeGeneres' show) or silly masks (e.g. donkey mask); add restrictions to what team can say (e.g. must say song lyrics; can't use specific letters/words; must use a non-English word or an English loanword in each sentence)

Thanks to GRT David for the dinner at Hei La Moon! This was organized on GRT budget to give people on hall (including new transfers and new GRT David) a chance to meet people, talk about how hall rush works, etc, since there were so many new people on hall this year.
DOM Discussion
During the EC Retreat, a lot of people complained at how long frosh spent on Floor Pi because of the stamp application. Some frosh enjoyed the silliness (including the wax stamp), but many frosh complained about how long it took and how long they had to wait (thus less time for other activities/halls) -- i.e. people either loved or hated it.
Challenges of dept minionry: how to help get to know frosh / remember names and faces in the fastest way possible? how to deal with people especially clumps of people in a silly but not too time-consuming way?
Discussion/suggestions for improving the event (only some implemented this year):
- recommendation form handed out at other activities (to bypass the stamp application process)
- get people at other stations to remind/warn frosh that they also have to go through the department of minionry
- section of stamp application is to mark what activities they've been to, like a mini EC passport
- limit the amount of "bureaucracy": only one of the following so as to annoy yet be fair and quick: I would take impromptu breaks (~1 min), tell them the department they're looking for is "down the hall," insist that they have the wrong form, tell them the final step to receiving the stamp requires a parent signature if a minor, tell them there's a form submission fee, give them an incorrect (shorter) form to fill out, ask them if they have made an appointment or are here for a walk-in, play solitaire on Windows XP, insist the form has to take some time to go through "the system" in order for approval and the stamp, insist the stamp is out of wax and I'm waiting for "stamp support," and essentially things nameless bureaucracy does in my experience
- pity stamp if they don't get the event
- frosh can go to any station to get the stamp application
- not bureaucratic enough
