The Great Spam War of 2006 occurred during the spring semester after an email to all of the dormatory lists inquiring as to the location of an individuals sweater containing his very important fraternity pledge pin. Several thousand emails were sent to every dormatory list on campus, causing a major slowdow of MIT's email servers.
