Hall Rush 2016

Organization was largely done via email by rush chairs (erosales, mbhat, floorpi-rush-2016@mit.edu). This year's EC REX/Rush theme was Pre-historic. Hall chair delerme represented 3W for rooming.

Match stick rockets
Cookie Decorating and Boba Tea
Boba Set-up: http://www.thekitchn.com/how-to-make-boba-and-bubble-tea-98067 Scale up for the amount of boba. Use water-diluted syrup instead of the water-sugar syrup mixture they talk about. Don't worry about being super exact. Use soy milk for at least one batch of tea, condensed milk for the rest. Boba tea stuff should be served in the KL.
Cookie Set-up: Bake some cookies according to Betty Crocker mix instructions. Prepare icing piping bags.
Boba Shift: You can use remaining ingredients to prep more boba tea if necessary. Make sure frosh can serve themselves. Attempt to prevent and/or clean up any messes. Chat with the frosh who come.
Cookie Shift: Decorate cookies with frosh! Possibly replenish cookie supply by baking. Chat with frosh.
Department of Minionry
Set-up: Wax stamp. Stamp application.
Shift: Hand frosh forms to fill out. Lend them pens to fill it out if necessary. Be bureaucratic. When they turn in the form, stamp their passports using the wax stamp. (Keep candle burning as heat source to melt wax.)
Board Games and Fluffy Things
Set-up: Gather all the fluffy things (stuffed animals and blankets and pillows and such) from hall members. Arrange them in room. Put up signs so people know where to go for this event. Get a few games ready for play.
Shift: Chat with frosh. Teach them to play One Night / other game. Ensure games/relaxing is running smoothly.
Ceiling Tile Painting
Set-up: Take down 10-15 ceiling tiles and stack them. Help mbhat lay out tarp and paints and stuff.
Shift: Talk to frosh, maybe even paint a bit yourself. Mess prevention/cleanup.
Video Games in TVL
Set-up/Shift: Make sure games are running. Make sure interested frosh all get their chances to play a bit. Play with frosh. Teach them your gaming ways.
Nerf gun target practice
Set-up: Gather and set up cardboard boxes and chairs and such for people to hide behind and navigate and such. Gather nerf guns and bullets and place in accessible locations. Put up target dummies. All the caution tape!
Shift: Shoot the target dummies! Shoot the frosh! Shoot other Pizens! Defend yourself! Have fun playing around and dueling and chatting with the frosh. Feel free to come up with little challenges and minigames.
