Hallcest is the act of getting into a relationship with someone on the same hall. It is generally frowned upon in East Campus, as it implies that two rooms are being allocated to a pair of people who would be willing to share a room. Additionally, the mess and drama of break-ups can put strain on hall culture.

A lot of the social downside to hallcest can be avoided when people are mature and emotionally stable. We aren't, but we indulge in it anyways.

Third West has a long-standing history of having pairs of hall members that, even if they aren't simulating reproductive activities, are recognized as being "together". This article contains a list of pairs of people who have been in a relationship with one another and have each lived on hall for at least a semester. The presence of a pair on this list does not imply anything about sex, not that there's anything wrong with that.
